Wonderful read and great experience to spend the year with Dr. Stewart!
I was fairly interested in this premise because I also was going through a low point in my golf game and wondering if it might be time to get better or QUIT, so I was intrigued by the premise. Although not written to provide technical golf instruction, there were some basic tidbits imparted by the author's helpful pro that I found beneficial. The writing was good, humorous anecdotes and introspection about this darned game we golfers all love and hate at varying times! Perhaps maybe a little TOO much off-topic material for most readers but that's my opinion - you may enjoy it.
SPOILER ALERT -
Having said all that, I felt the resolution of the author's challenge, to get better or give up the game, was unsatisfying... I accepted the premise from the outset and I was pulling for him to reach his goal of real, significant improvement. He set out some objective standards for measuring whether he reached his goal and then kind of copped out at the end. I completely understand his decision (and rationalizations) but I felt it violated the whole premise he laid out. Just my opinion.
